The New Nano vs. Sansa View

The new iPod nano was released today. And no, I don't know much about it other than it's taller, has a bigger screen and plays movies in landscape mode. All great things, to be sure. Price points are $149 and $199 for the 8GB and 16GB models. The screen is 2" (which doesn't seem that much bigger to me, maybe I'm missing something). I guess you can play games on it too.Meanwhile, here's my Sansa View. The 8GB model was $149 last year when I bought it. It doesn't have games, or a calendar. But you can turn it on its side to watch movies. The screen is 2.8 inches (almost 1/2 again as big as the nano). I upgraded mine to 16 GB by adding a memory card. That's right. The view is expandable. And it has an FM radio. And a voice recorder.

In short, I'm not going to rush out to by a new iPod Nano any time soon (but I'm guessing my son will want one).

And that concludes today's completely random post.

SanDisk is well known brand with reliable products. Recently I've got player View. They worked on this a lot: good design and many functions that are easy to use. Good product SanDisk!
