Civic Duties

I voted today (and so should you).

It's been a while since I've posted (but I've been updating my status on Facebook like a crack addict jonesing for the next fix).

I wanted to post this, though, because I thought it was kind of cool.

And from the State Resolutions:

The Transportation Cabinet is directed to honor and salute the military history of Skaggs brothers Carl, Escom, Hurl, Hunter, and Wilbur by naming Kentucky Route 172 in Morgan County, from the town of Crockett to the Johnson County line, the "Skaggs Brothers Highway." The Transportation Cabinet shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect signs at the locations specified in this section that read "Skaggs Brothers Highway."

And then this one:

The Transportation Cabinet is directed to honor and salute the military history of Skaggs brothers Carl, Escom, Hurl, Hunter, and Wilbur by naming Kentucky Route 32 in Lawrence County the "Skaggs Brothers Highway." The Transportation Cabinet shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect signs at the locations specified in this section that read "Skaggs Brothers Highway." This designation shall supercede any previous designations for the individuals listed in this section.

It's kind of weird to me to think of a highway honoring my papaw. But it's very cool to me, too. I mean, what he (and his brothers) did was a big deal. So, it's cool. I'm pretty proud of my papaw.

I'm excited to see the signs next time we drive down there.

That's all I got for now. Go on about your business. Peace.
